We had this nice discussion on love based on the verses in 1 Corinthians 13 in our prayermeet last night at my place. In a smaller group sharing, there is one particular thought that crosses my mind regarding the verses.Love is patient and kind (patience is a virtue that I am lacking, kindness just OK)
Love is never jealous (Buzzzeerrr...I am a VERY jealous person...:p)
Love is not boastful or conceited (urrrghhh..again, my weakness..my friend called it vain.)
It is never rude and not self-seeking (I think all of us are guilty on this part, me included)
It is not easily angered (again, falters by a million miles..)
It keeps no record of wrongs (I have short memory anyways..)
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth (why do I keep on sinning...?)
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (This rarely happens...)
Then, one of my friends quipped with a straight face "You're a lousy LOVER man..!!!"
Laugh. I couldn't disagree more. Sigh.
